History of the Institution The Devamatha Corporate Educational Agency is the Agency concerning the Educational Institutions under the Devamatha Province of the CMI Congregation. St. Thomas Monastery, Pavaratty, is a Unit under the Devamatha Province. The land in which the college is situated was originally in the name of the said St. Thomas Monastery, Pavaratty. Of late there were objections raised by the various educational authorities that the lands should be either in the name of the Educational Agency or in the name of the College. Therefore, the property bearing survey No. 132/4 was transferred in favour of the St. Joseph Training College, Pavaratty. Thus from 15-4-2009 onwards the property is in the name of the St. Josephs Training College, Pavaratty. On behalf of the Devamatha Corporate Educational Agency, the St. Joseph’s Educational and Charitable Trust (Reg. No. 463/IV/2002), is managing the affairs of the St. Joseph’s Training College, Pavaratty
Vision Statement We, the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, after the example of our founder St. Kuriakose Chavara, consider education the integral formation of human person for the fulfillment of his/her individual and social responsibilities. Our educational endeavours aim at forming leaders who are intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy and society acceptable. They shall champion the cause of justice. Love truth and peace, they are ever to be open to further growth.
Mission and Objectives Following the CMI vision of education, we at St. Joseph’s strive to inculcate the values and ideals preached and practiced by great educationists particularly our founder father St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. A Josephait is to be hardworking, just and sincere after the model of our heavenly patron, St. Joseph in all their dealings. Accordingly we, St Joseph’s try to form teachers of the future generation who would their students after the model of the great educationists of our county.
