ROAD SAFETY
EXTENSION PROGRAM

Road accidents have increased
a lot with the increased volume of traffic and number of
commuters on the roads. School and college students are the
daily commuters in the buses and other hired vehicles
especially in the morning and evening. Roads all over Kerala
are overcrowded with them. Targeting these groups of
students Road Safety Clubs are being formed in all the
schools in Kerala in order to conscientize them about
road safety.

"Each one teach one" - goes
the saying. Who else to teach, if not the teachers of the
schools? If so, the teacher trainees have to be well aware
of the road safety in order to instruct their students, once
they are in the real school situation.
With
this in mind a seminar was organized in the college.
Although it was an extension program of the school, we
formed our own Road Safety Club. Mr K B Suresh (Dy S P,
Crime Branch) took class on road safety. Besides our
students, the students of CKCTTI, Pavaratty also
participated in the seminar. Mr Eldo P T (Joint RTO,
